Very Suitable for Many Applications
Mirai was introduced in 2005 as a basic ripstop nylon fabric for sport- and foil kites; kites that require a high quality fabric which is resistant to wear and tear, has good airtightness and is shock absorbent. Many high quality kites (e.g. Peter Lynn kites) are made of Mirai and the fabric has proven itself extensively over the past years.
A more high-end fabric, Chikara was particularly targeted towards the paraglider and high end kite markets, industries that require high quality fabrics which are wear and tear resistant, have extreme airtightness, and are low stretch. Chikara is therefore especially suited for the creation of foil kites.
The top buggy kite, the Peter Lynn Vapor, is made of Chikara.
Chikara and Icarex are very low stretch fabrics, which makes them incredibly suitable for high end delta kites. Kites made from Chikara or Icarex will continue to keep their shape and retain their performance, even after many hours of intense use.

Inflatables & Skytubes
Mirai is very durable, as well as tear and crack resistant (due to the soft PU coating), which are all very important features of inflatables and skytubes. This makes Mirai an excellent choice for these sorts of applications. The fabric is also very suitable for screen printing.
Chikara has high tear strength, low stretch and light weight. These features are important for the production of a durable tarp that needs to last for a significant period of time, making Chikara well suited for this sort of application.
The soft PU coating of Mirai and Chikara makes it slippery, which is an important feature required by medical aid products where easy slide is key (for example, aid accessories to pull on support stockings and roll over sheets). Also, the fact that the water-repellent resin in the coating is PFOA-free makes Chikara particularly suited to medical applications.
Protection and Cover Applications
The light weight Mirai fabric comes in a large and consistent range of colours. This, along with the consistency in the woven fabric, makes Mirai suitable for the production of protection and cover products for cars, boats, etc.
The consistency in colours and the woven fabric makes Mirai very suitable for the production of apparel. The large range of colours but also the possibility to have your own colour produced are also features that make the fabric well-suited to this industry.
If you are interested in a particular colour you can always contact us and we can ask for colour samples (minimum order quantity is a full roll of approx. 1000 metres).
