Does wearing clothes without any sunblock on still protect you?
Q. Like, I would wear a shirt and put sunblock on my exposed arms, but not where I'm wearing clothes, stomach/chest/back. Am I still protected? Or should I be putting sunblock underneath my clothes too?

Why do I feel so self conscious wearing certain clothes?
Q. I consider myself to a relatively confident person, but whenever I wear clothes that are quite bright or that stand out, I become really self conscious, even though I like the clothes myself. It's like I think I look stupid, even though I like what I'm wearing, and I don't understand it. Can somebody help me out? Thanks

A. Aha, you are confused. In reality you really DONT like the bright/stand out clothes so you are uncomfortable. If you think you look stupid, then well you most probably do. Avoid bright/ stand out look, go more with the elegant suave rich guy look which will multiply your confidence. just my 2 bit.

A. Yes it was, although it wasn't the only time class differentiation was wholly dependent on a person's articles of attire. The rules for "correct dress" were long, complex and difficult to remember. Many books and magazines were devoted to the rules of "correct dress" so the ordinary person could try to follow them. All children under the age of two were dressed in dresses and skirts, around two and half kids clothes became divided by gender, boys were buttoned up into short pants and girls were laced into starter and training "waists" a un-boned corset like garment. By eight she would be wearing a boned waist and by the teens she would be in a real corset. An un-corseted girl or woman was considered low class. Boys too followed the… [cont.]

How soon did you start wearing maternity clothes?
Q. I am almost 15 weeks and my pre-pregnancy clothes do not fit at all. I was wearing them up until last week with the button and zipper open and a belly band but theya re just too uncomfortable. Now, my belly is not poking out but it is much bigger than before. Rather than having 3 or 4 different stages of clothes, I just want to start wearing maternity clothes. They are comfortable and it makes sense to me. I am proud to show off my belly. A woman at my job came up and asked me today how far along I am so I told her 15 weeks. She looked at me like I was an idiot and asked why I was wearing maternity clothes already cause my belly is barely poking out. I told her it was more comfortable. She laughed and said "But you are barely… [cont.]

A. I am 28 weeks pregnant with #3 and I was in maternity clothes at 8 weeks! Everyone was like why are you wearing them you are going to hate them by the end of your pregnancy. I could not wear my normal clothes and I thought it was dumb to go out and buy bigger clothes and them by maternity clothes later on. So I just started wearing them. Bottom line -- If you are more comfortable in them, then wear them!

I have tried to ask her to stop taking my clothes, but she gets mad at me. i really don't want her to wear my clothes anymore, but I don't know what to do!

At what stage did you start wearing maternity clothes?
Q. I'm going to be in my 23rd week tomorrow, and I'm really not sure when I should start wearing them. I'm a little bigger, and now you can really start to see I'm pregnant, but since I wear sweatpants, I haven't bought any new maternity clothes yet. But I'm starting to think about buying some now. I don't know how big I should be before I start wearing them I guess, so I'm just curious as to when you started wearing them.

A. when i couldnt button/zip my pants. with my first it was about 24 weeks and with this pregnancy [my 2nd] about 22 weeks. i dont wear sweatpants out besides working out, so that wasnt an option. i, personally, dont see the point in women saying "buying maternity clothes is a waste of money, just buy bigger regular clothes" if maternity clothes are a waste, so would be buying bigger clothes because they wont fit afterwards either. i also think its really REALLY tacky to see "heavily" showing pregnant women walking around in clothes that are obviously not maternity, just because they can get them on doesnt mean they fit or look right. MOST non maternity clothing bought in a bigger size to fit your belly will be baggy in some places, pulling… [cont.]

How do you know when you should start wearing "adult" clothes?
Q. I mean, I am the same for years, and still can fit in my high school uniform, and can wear whatever, when should/should I start wearing adult clothes like oversized jackets and ankle-length skirts, you know, motherly type? So as not to look flippant?
Asked by ny - Fri Sep 14 14:19:10 2007 - - 14 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You should never wear oversized jackets and ankle length skirts. The best length of skirt for anyone over 25 is about knee length. Invest in classic styles of clothes and you'll fit in any where.

Is wearing leather clothes actually useful in a fight?
Q. I was just reading a book with some macho warrior guys wearing leather from head to toe. At one point, one of them pointed that it was quite useful to wear "good leathers", while they were in the middle of a fight. My question is whether his statement has any grounds or not. It may be useful when you fall on concrete, however, I can't possibly think it gives you much flexibility. As well, if you get hurt it must a be a pain to take off. Then why all the stereotypes and is wearing leather clothes really of any use when you are fighting somebody?
