Is it safe to use cleaning fluid to clean darkened strap and dry clean the inside of Louis Vuitton vintage bag

A. The handles are natural cowhide leather, NO WAY should you use any fluid on them! You can NOT get the natual patina out of leather. You can buy a leather cleaner and try to just get the dirt off. You also can't dry clean the interior because it doesn't come out. Just take a damp cloth and wipe it out. "Actually if you look at the speedy bags on the official LV website you will notice that the LV logo is upside down on one side. This is because the purse is made from one piece of fabric which would cause one side to appear to look upside down. If this purse had a bottom panel and both sides looked right side up, i would think it was a knockoff." Q. this was a gift from a friend who's pretty freaking loaded, and she said that it was real and that she doesnt own any fakes and blah blah, but in researching the differences between the fakes and authentic louis vuitton bags, ive come to think that maybe my bag is fake..? its a log bag, by the way. it could be real because...: it is one sheet of fabric --> rightside up on one side, upsidedown on the other i beleive its leather, it freaking smells like it. zipper has LV on it the V is above the L on the logo thingie the stitches are pretty even, and the LV are centers on both of the circle pieces on the sides of my bag i think its fake because..: ive read that they are made in paris --> mine says this in the exact lower/capital cases:… [cont.]

Q. for graduation im asking my parents for a monogram canvas speedy 35. I noticed that the handles tend to get dark as you use it more, so, how can i prevent this or can't i? are they less fussy than coach bags? ( i have a nice coach bag but sinces its all nice fabric if you spill anything on it, your toast ) overall, what are they like? ( ive looked at the website and on youtube but i need something more in depth! :) ) and does the yellow LV and stars /flowers fade off the canvas?

The canvas it's made of is actually really durable - I use baby wipes to clean mine and it works well :) It's the oils and sweat that make the handles turn darker faster - so try to carry it on the arm more than in your hand. The LV's will not fade -- one of the reasons these bags cost so much is that they last. You can still have the same gorgeous bag 20 years from now. If you are interested in LV go to The Purse Forum - there are LV lovers there who would love to talk about anything Louis Vuitton with you ;)

Q. i recently saw 2 diff women sporting a lv bag whc i must have one of this color/style but im nt sure they are authentic or not.. its jus too much a coincidence but description is this.. it was a satchel of a dark brown velour/velvet type of fabric and the monogram logos were like pressed in the fabric type- sorry but- all i can think of to better describe is - branding of a cow.LOL and the monogram was smaller than the classic one. the later i saw a dif woman w a smaller handbag but the same type of fabric-- it is sooo adorable.. and i wnt to lv.com and seen no such bags.. so im wonderg if they are phony but if u know wch bags these are tellme whr to find them thanks !!!

I am looking for a designer bag with certain specifications.?
Q. I want a designer bag (Louis Vuitton, GUCCI, PRADA etc.) with the following specs.: 1- Size: big. 40 cm X 40 cm x 15 cm approximately. 2- Shoulder bag. Should be worn comfortably on the shoulder. Long and wide shoulder straps, 3- Leather and fabric. Or leather only. 4- A casual chic bag for everyday that is trendy and durable. ( I am a very busy working mom ). 5- Zipper closure. I need it to have a zipper closure for safety issues. Much more comfortable for me. 6- Budget: 600 USD. Maybe 700 USD if it is unbelievable :) 7- Color: Brown, Camel or both. 7- The bag should be authentic and I dont mind if it is not the latest model. Please help! I am looking high and low for it. Thanks

A. Since you have something so specific in mind I would try using the personal shopping services at the higher end department stores. The service if typically free with a minimum purchase. Most make the service available over the phone, so they can look for you and keep you posted when new things come in.

Is ClubMonaco an in-style store?
Q. I'm trying to up my wardrobe style without spending thousands like the stereotypical Louis Vuitton handbag girls, or buying Gucci, Prada and all of that. I'm too middle class for that. However I want a nice look, something a bit more upscale from the regular Macys stuff you can get anywhere. (not putting down Macy's, as they carry designer). So I decided to go to Club Monaco. Their clothes seem very classy, and the fabrics seem good quality, and their prices are actually on the cheap side! They really are. H&M is also very cheap, but their material sometimes shows it. But H&M is more run of the mill, in fashion everyday. Is ClubMonaco considered a classy store, or is it just another Hollister/Abercrombie?

A. Definitely try Club Monaco; it certainly is not in the Hollister/Abercrombie category so don't worry about that. Some other suggestions would be Mexx and also select items at Banana Republic, especially the men's jeans and button down shirts. Forget H & M, I agree that the clothes do look cheap. Have fun shopping I'm jealous.
